This "stimulus" package is over 1000 pages, even an accomplished speed reader hasn't had the time to read it, much less digest it, yet the congress has passed it. It is far beyond the time for the change that we supposedly want. Change that will only happen when all of the politicians at every level of government are removed from office. No change will occur in a system that promotes career politicians. Term limits, tighter controls at the ballot box, and immediate personal accountability from elected officials should be the law.
I propose new legislation that forces a constitutional limit on federal debt. The way out of this crisis is with less government regulation, less federal spending, and far less political stimulus.
President Obama promised a period of public comment before signing major legislation. So, I sat down and reflected on that, and I am sending my "Thank you" for what you have done, specifically:
1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones , Monica Lewinsky , Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broderick . Did I leave anyone out?
2. Thank you for teaching my 8 year old about oral sex. I had really planned to wait until he was a little older to discuss it with him, but now he knows more about it than I did as a senior in college.
3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place (especially the White House) and on the job is OK, and all you have to know is what the meaning of " is" is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex, and one person may have sex while the other one does NOT have sex.
4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie "Wag the Dog" could be plausible after all.
5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.
6. Thank you for the 73 House and Senate witnesses who have pled the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democratic campaign fund raising.
7. Thank you, for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonment's from the Whitewater "mess" and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other " Clinton " scandals.
8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, "gutting" much of our foreign policy, and flying all over the world on "vacations" carefully disguised as necessary trips.
9 Thank you, also, for "finding" millions of dollars (I really didn't need it in the first place, and I can't think of a more deserving group of recipients for my hard-earned tax dollars) for all of your globe-trotting. I understand you, the family and your cronies have logged in more time aboard Air Force One than any other administration.
10. Now that you've left the White House, thanks for the 140 pardons of convicted felons and indicted felons-in-exile. We will love to have them rejoin society. (Not to mention the scores you pardoned while Governor of Arkansas)
11. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware. I'm sure that Laura Bush didn't like the pattern anyway. Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you've received from your "friends."
12. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the White House for vandalizing and destroying government property on the way out. I also appreciate removing all of that excess weight ( China , silverware, linen, towels, ash trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc.) out of Air Force 1. The weight savings means burning less fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!
13. And finally, please ensure that Hillary enjoys the $8 million dollar advance for her "tell-all" book and you, Bill, the $10 million advance for your memoirs. Who says crime doesn't pay!
14. The last and most important point - thank you for forcing Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners". However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton , and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher , "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center . This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports. Why shouldn't Americans know the real truth? What a guy!!
If you agree that the American public must be made aware of these facts, pass this on.
God bless America and THANK YOU (once again) for spending my taxes so wisely and frugally. SINCERELY, A U.S. Citizen
P.S. Please pass along a special thank you to Al Gore for "inventing" the Internet, without which I would not be able to send this wonderful, factual e-mail.
AND THE REST OF THE STORY -- Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York U.S. Senator, now comes under the "Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan," which means that even if she never gets re-elected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies. (Would it not be nice if all Americans were pension eligible after only 4 years?) If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until HE dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary outlives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that? WE DO! It's common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua , New York . Makes sense. They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense. Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover at around $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residence HAD to be built within the acreage to house the Secret Service agents. The Clintons charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly rent for the use of that extra residence, which is just about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we, the taxpayers, are paying the Clinton's salary, mortgage, transportation, safety and security, as well as the salaries for their 12-man staff -- and, this is all perfectly legal! When she runs for President, will you vote for her?

A Democrats Poem

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, thenTax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways To tax his ass

Tax all he has Then let him know
That you won't be done Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers, Then tax him some more,
Tax him till He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin ,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in Which he's laid.
Put these words upon his tomb, " Taxes drove me to my doom..."

When he's gone, Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax
Building Permit Tax
CDL license Tax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Dog License Tax
Excise Taxes
Federal Income Tax
Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)
Fishing License Tax
Food License Tax
Fuel Permit Tax
Gasoline Tax (42 cents per gallon)
Gross Receipts Tax
Hunting License Tax
Inheritance Tax
Inventory Tax
IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax)
Liquor Tax
Luxury Taxes
Marriage License Tax
Medicare Tax
Personal Property Tax
Property Tax
Real Estate Tax
Service Charge Tax
Social Security Tax
Road Usage Tax
Sales Tax
Recreational Vehicle Tax
School Tax
State Income Tax
State Unemployment Tax (SUTA)
Telephone Federal Excise Tax
Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax
Telephone Federal, State and Local Surcharge Taxes
Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax
Telephone Recurring and Non-recurring Charges Tax
Telephone State and Local Tax
Telephone Usage Charge Tax
Utility Taxes
Vehicle License Registration Tax
Vehicle Sales Tax
Watercraft Registration Tax
Well Permit Tax
Workers Compensation Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? One of my sisters lives in Pflugerville and is married to a transvestite. My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and selling marijuana. They are financially dependent on my other two sisters, who are prostitutes in Dallas.

I have two brothers: one is currently serving a non-parole life sentence at Huntsville for the murder of a teenage boy in 1994. My other brother is currently in jail awaiting charges of sexual misconduct with his three children.

I have recently become engaged to marry a former prostitute who lives in Longview. She is a part time "working girl". All things considered, my problem is this. I love my fiancé and look forward to bringing her into the family.

I certainly want to be totally open and honest with her.
Should I tell her about my cousin who supports Hillary Clinton for President?
Signed,
Worried About My Reputation

I got this in an Email the other day. I'm not sure who the author is but I'm with them!

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 ? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia. I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing-up an> Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and - you guessed it - I don't care ! ! ! ! ! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country! And may I add: "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." -- Ronald Reagan I have another quote that I would like to add ....... "If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... and how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN BOTH OF THEM. AMEN!

Sen. Bill Nelson on Climate Change

Below is the reply I got from Sen. Nelson's office after I wrote with my concerns that the global warming nuts were out of control. Wonder if he even read my letter? The letter that follows is the reply I sent to this:

Thank you for writing me with your concerns about global warming. The United States needs an energy policy that alleviates high energy prices and reduces our dependency on foreign oil without inflicting irreversible harm on our environment. Global warming threatens Florida's fragile ecosystem and $54 billion tourism industry. Rising sea levels will encroach on Florida's pristine beaches and harm coastal wetlands and the Everglades. Also, increased water temperatures will damage sensitive coral reefs and endanger Florida's diverse marine species. A recent scientific study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded with 90 percent certainty that global warming is caused by the accumulation of man-made greenhouse gasses. To reduce our use of greenhouse gasses, we must use more renewable energy in power production and transportation. I am a cosponsor of three important bills that will help reduce the effects of global warming and promote innovation in alternative energy production. The Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act (CSIA) is a bipartisan bill that would cap the greenhouse gas emissions of the electric power, industrial, transportation, and commercial sectors of the economy at year 2004 levels by 2012. By then gradually lowering this cap and creating financial incentives to develop clean-burning energy, we will lower emissions and forestall catastrophic global warming. The Dependence Reduction through Innovation in Vehicles and Energy (DRIVE) Act would dramatically reduce our use of fossil fuels by increasing the availability of alternative transportation fuels, providing incentives for the purchase of hybrid and flexible fuel vehicles, and spurring development for next-generation fuels and hybrid cars. Lastly, the Ten-in-Ten Fuel Economy Act would increase fuel economy standards by ten miles per gallon in ten years. While these bills are an important first step, I will continue to work in the Senate to fight the effects of global warming. I appreciate the time you've taken to be involved and informed about this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.

Dear Senator Nelson,
From your response to my last inquiry I see that you are a drinker of the Global Warming Alarmist kool-aid. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is nothing more than a self serving group that exists to promote the existence of man-made global warming. I could have told you what their conclusion was going to be long before they published anything. This group is the very definition of biased and un-objective. Anyone who bothers to check the facts with objectivity will see that there is no justification for a claim that they are 90% certain that global warming is due to man made greenhouse gases. Man as a whole simply does not contribute enough of a percentage of these gases into the atmosphere to justify this statement. There are a growing number in the scientific community that believe the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere is more the result of, rather than the cause of, warming trends. Further the Earth has been both warmer and cooler in the past when mans production of these greenhouse gasses was insignificant. In the middle ages temps were warm enough that grapes were grown in England yet the activists in the global warming sector work to hide the fact that this period ever occurred. Additionally astronomers tell us that our sun is in a heightened state of activity and that the temps on Mars are rising at a similar rate to Earth, which would seem to indicate that the climate is far more affected by the sun than by any activity of Man. This "science" is anything but settled and much of the evidence that refutes the doomsayers is being repressed. I had hoped that you would be more thoughtful than to accept as gospel the findings of a group pre-disposed and highly motivated to find that global warming is a manmade phenomenon despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
All of this, aside the models that these people use are skewed beyond any reasonable measure to achieve the ends they desire. They assume levels of man-made CO2 that are far beyond any reasonable estimate or measurement of what is actually produced.
Simply put Climate change has been occurring for far longer than we have been able to follow it on a global scale and even today the samples of temps taken are not an accurate reflection of a true global average (most temps are taken in urban areas).
It should give you pause to remember that many of the same people preaching the religion of global warming today were crying out about the coming of the next ice age 20 years ago. These people have no credibility.
If you are truly an enlightened individual read the many reports from the many and very credible scientists that refute the findings of groups like the IPCC.
We should all take reasonable measures to keep our environment clean but this alarmism is counter productive and driven as much by a desire to harm our economy as by any concern for the environment.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theconservativecaveman.blogspot.com/2007/05/sen-bill-nelson-on-climate-change.html' title='Sen. It's worth the read but I'm not sure it was Leno. Doesn't sound quite like him.

JAY LENO..."HITS THE NAIL ON THE HEAD"

The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. I being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?''
Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough.
Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating?
Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11?
The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession?
Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?
The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?
Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't
kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!
Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage.
Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.
We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative. "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Jay Leno

More Global Warming Nonsense!

Most of these environmentalcases were once reasonable people that saw the smog, dirt, and grime coming from careless people and early technology and wanted to clean it up. An altogether noble cause that enjoyed world-wide success. But once people had, by and large, come around to their way of thinking these same people found themselves suddenly irrelevant. It was only through protest and complaint that they had achieved fame and power and when it disappeared they missed it. In order to recapture and maintain the recognition they desire they have become more and more radical, forever in search of the next protest march and the next corporation to blackmail. These folks claim to be the true believers but they are more concerned with keeping the gravy train running than they are with any real environmental issue.

The environmental movement is also sponsored and filled with people that have a much more nefarious agenda. These people are anti-capitalists that have found that by pushing the extreme enviro-doom package they can slam the system they so hate with a large degree of impunity. These people have little or no real care about the enviro-issues they claim to support but it is just the means to achieve their end, wide spread communism.

The third group in this mob are the "Dumb Masses" (Mustn't forget the M) that attend the protests without really understanding what it is they are protesting. These are people that have not bothered to cross check facts for themselves, preferring to have others do the thinking for them. These are the mindless bodies that believe what they read in the NY Times and get all of their news from the alphabet networks or daily kos and never question what their masters tell them. These are people that fear freedom and responsibility. Science that disputes the world view of those that would lead them is heresy! Every problem is someone else's fault and the world just owes them a living wage and health care and food and housing and, and, and, and........... you get the idea. Lifes losers without the wit or ambition to understand how the two groups above will use them and discard them without remorse. Perfectly happy to suck at the government tit their whole life. Their vote goes to the person promising to be Robin Hood, taking from the evil rich and giving to the deserving poor. Miserable wretches that think you should suffer and do without because they won't work hard enough to earn the things you have.

And we give these people credibility! Reposted

This is a post that I wrote a couple of months ago. It seemed a good idea to repost it today.

I keep hearing that 55% of Americans feel the war in Iraq was/is a mistake. First of all I take all such figures and polls with a very large grain of salt but it begs some questions. In what way was it a mistake? Most of Iraq is secure and peaceful. The reports that I have heard from the six returned soldiers that I personally know, paint a very different picture than the one we get on the daily news. They claim that most of the Iraqis, and the children in particular, are friendly and seem genuinely thankful to be out from under Saddam's thumb. The photo's and videos of the fall of his regime show a lot of people that seemed to be pretty pleased that he (Saddam) was gone. I also find it difficult to accept that the world would be better off today if Saddam were still in power. He definitely had WMD. We have found over 500 gas shells and removed a large amount of the yellow cake that Joe Wilson claimed wasn't there. I also keep hearing the war referred to as a "Failure" by the likes of Hillary Clinton (and most of the left), by what definition is this war a failure? We met the first objective in record time all the while being told we were in a quagmire by the main stream media. We have lost fewer than 3,000 troops in the 3 years we have been in Iraq and while every death is regrettable this is a remarkably small number. Certainly much smaller than the 10's to 100's of thousands the main stream media predicted. As to the number of enemy combatants killed, I frankly don't care. If they are taking up arms against our troops we should show the rest of the world what happens when you do and the civilian casualties have been far more the responsibility of the "insurgents" than they have our troops. The ridiculously overblown and hyped charges of torture and abuse at Abu Grahib and Gitmo are more a fantasy of the media than a reality. To call these events torture is similar to calling a spanking child abuse. I realize that some people consider spanking child abuse but they are largely fringe nuts that either have no children or whose children are spoiled and ill behaved, but I digress. The Iraqis have come out to vote, at great personal risk, 3 times now in numbers that we should strive for here. They are working toward a government that represents all of the people and have come a long way. Most of the dissent seems to be coming from outside agitators rather than a home grown movement. Any reasonably objective person must see that we have made significant progress in Iraq. And finally what do we stand to gain if we pull out before the job is done? All this will accomplish is to further embolden the terrorists with the proof that America has no backbone, a paper tiger as Osama called us after the Clintonian debacle in Mogadishu. We will be far less secure as a result in spite of the illogic of the left that would have you believe that by killing terrorists we are creating more terrorists. If that logic were true we'd all have been overrun by the Germans and Japanese in WWII. The further we pushed, the more that we killed, the nearer to victory we came, the more of our enemies to give up the fight rather than to continue to take up arms. This was particularly true of the Germans, but we did not face never ending hoards of Japanese at the end of the war either. In short our biggest mistake with Iraq may be in not having prosecuted this war far enough. Had we just bulldozed through Afghanistan to Iran and then to Iraq and Syria we just might have taught the bastards a lesson, that you don't fuck with us!I also hear with some frequency a claim that the administration is/has/continues to lie about this war but I've never gotten an answer, at least not a coherent one, when I've asked for examples. The WMD nonsense was never a lie as has been documented over and over. In referring back to statements made by President Bush and his advisors I find that things in Iraq have progressed pretty much along the lines that we were told it would. We were never told this was going to be quick or easy. In fact we have been told on any number of occasions that it was going to be long and difficult. We have been told all along that our troops would stand down as the Iraqis stood up and when this happens you can bet that the left is going to claim credit. Just as they continue to complain that President Bush has no plan, despite his explaining his plan many times, they continue to harp on the setbacks experienced as evidence that we can't win this war. Our military has never been defeated in war. Even in Vietnam the war was lost at home rather than on the battlefield. Only in the media and the fantasies of the left are we losing this war. Only those that refuse to accept that we are fighting an enemy that cannot be appeased and will break any and all agreements that they make can be opposed to this action. If you think that we can negotiate a long term peace with these people than you are dangerously naive. The objective of Islam is to subjugate the world and kill all non-believers. Nothing less than absolute success or complete failure is going to stop the violence. Every time they are beaten back they agree to a cease fire in order to allow themselves time to recover and rearm and then they are right back on the attack. This is not a recent trend but has been the case for literally thousands of years. If these polls are right and we wind up with a cut and run government I pray that the next event doesn't slaughter as many as we lost on 9/11, but I fear the toll will be much higher.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theconservativecaveman.blogspot.com/2006/10/mistake-reposted.html' title='A Mistake? While you do see some of that here and on other blogs like HA it is not nearly as prevalent or as mean. As Michelle so rightly points out in her latest book the left has become completely unhinged. They are dragging out all of the old long since debunked lies about President Bush, and republicans in general, avoiding for the most part any substantive statements on the Kerry quotes all the while accusing republicans of trying to change the subject. I truly fear what could become of our great country if these people actually regain the power they desire. Endless, pointless and wasteful investigation into allegations that have already been disproved. Weakness shown on a front where none can be tolerated. A ruined economy and a weakened military when our country will least be able to afford either. As poor a job as you might think the republicans have done the democrats would be far worse. No direction, no plan, and only surrender. Truly a nightmare of unprecedented proportion. This is why we must vote. This is why we can not trust the democrats with real power again. They are no longer morally fit to govern.

Kerry Belittles U.S. Troops

John Kerry A Liberals Liberal

I can hardly believe this whole situation. I work hard to make a living and I deserve representation that spends my tax dollars wisely. It is not a function of the government to redistribute the wealth I have earned to others that have less. All people deserve equal opportunity and, for the most part, in America they have it. I do not oppose helping those that cannot help themselves but far too many on the dole are healthy capable persons that should be self reliant. It is not the responsibility of the government to see to my health care or retirement. I am far more confidant in my ability to provide these things than I am in the government.

Personal freedoms are another huge area that defines my beliefs. We have given up far too many rights to the federal government. In spite of the reality of enforcement the Feds have no right or business dictating to the states what can or cannot be done or taught in schools. These issues should (and used to be) left up to the local values of the communitees that support these schools and the parents of the children being taught there. They are way out of line with laws such as the McCain - Feingold act which clearly violate the bill of rights.

I have a profound belief in the free market. If you offer a product or service that the public deems to be valuable your success will be limited only by your work ethic. Business, no matter how large, is not "evil". Only people can be good or evil.

The top issues I vote for are lower taxes, national security, and preserving our basic freedoms.

Why this idiotic blame game?

When former presidents Carter and Clinton engaged in bilateral talks with N. Korea they gave all sorts of concessions and incentives to them in order to secure a promise that the Norks would forgo nuclear weapons. The Norks violated this agreement from the very beginning. The Bush administration has insisted on multi-lateral talks with 5 other nations involved in the hopes of accomplishing the same goals, but with no success as the Norks refuse to talk unless it is one on one. The Clinton agreement was hopelessly naive but the inflexibility of the Bush administration will produce no fruit either because the problem and the blame does not rest with us.
Simply put the Norks are going to do what they are going to do. These people are criminals writ large. They counterfeit US dollars, they smuggle drugs, they steal and sell technology to terrorists and they have absolutely no intention of giving up their nuclear program. Sure they would be very happy to extort more booty from the United States in exchange for more promises that they have no intention of keeping. They would put on a happy face, agree to stop testing, and then, as soon as it became expedient to do so, once again reveal that they had broken their promises and blame us for "making them do it".
The Norks are like a spoiled child that craves attention that has a bully to protect them (China). As long as China and Russia coddle this brat it will be impossible to take the only action that would end this madness. Korea needs to be re-unified as a democratic society. In other words the leadership of the republicans in congress had taken every appropriate action by telling him to knock it off when the "overly friendly" Emails were brought to their attention.
#3 As I said in point #1 all of the alleged victims were already former pages when this occurred. This means that he was not using his power or influence over them in order to satisfy his perversions.
#4 The Democrats want it both ways. They say that the leadership should have been monitoring the situation closer and should have known about this. Yet when a republican aid finds Emails in unprotected files and publishes them they scream and stomp their feet and hold their breath until they turned blue and force him to resign.
#4 Under similar circumstances in the past with one of their own they called such actions a "witch hunt" and claimed it was no big deal. Consensual sex between 2 adults. No one questioned why the leaders at the time (Tip O'Neal) Hadn't done something to protect these children even though he may have had as much as 10 years warning.
And they dare to call us hypocrites!

Radical Islam

In another reality the reaction of the Muslims to the Pope's comments would be humorous. Unfortunately they are deadly serious.
The fact that these reactions are so wide spread proves that it is in no way a minority of the Islamic people that support this kind of behavior. The terrorists are treated as hero's and martyrs within the Islamic community throughout the world. Muslims across this country celebrated the events of 9/11. Only very rarely do any of the "moderate Muslims" ever speak out against these heinous acts and it seems disingenuous when they do it.
I am sure that there are people of the Muslim faith that would rather live and let live than to fight the infidels but the Islamic leadership at it's highest levels is preaching jihad and, as witnessed by the events surrounding the Pope's speech, the outrage over the Danish cartoons, and the violence perpetrated by false stories of desecration of the Koran, the majority of the Muslims in the streets are more than willing to support this violent vision of their religion.

This is a must see

You need to check out this site:
www.thereligionofpeace.com

Moonbats on parade

The following is a letter to the editor in the Daytona Beach News Journal 9/14/06:

Buzzword boomerangs on Bush
This administration is very adept at throwing out buzzwords. The latest one is "fascist," for those who disagree with and speak out against administration policies.
This administration has learned well that all it has to do is point the finger and call someone else a name or use a scary buzzword -- even if that word best describes the administration -- and the American public will blindly believe.
The Random House Unabridged Dictionary defines "fascism" as "a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism -- and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism."
Does that not come close to describing our present administration? Pretty close, huh?
DANIEL E. AMEDICK, Ormond Beach

I sent a reply but it's unlikely that the paper will publish it as they very rarely print anything from the conservative viewpoint, so here it is:

I think Mr. Amedick needs to loosen the tinfoil hat a little. The only group the president has ever called “fascist” is the one that we are fighting in the war on terror, and they most definitely meet the published definition of the word.
His assertion that President Bush uses the term to describe the people in this country that disagree with him or speak out against him is simply a lie. Give me one example where that has happened. It is the people on the far left that are constantly accusing President Bush of being a fascist, a Nazi, or worse, not the other way around. His ascertains that the present administration is even close to being fascist is rebuked by the fact that he is free to write his letters and opinions without fear of any official reprisals. If Mr. Amedick will pull his head out of the sand and join the rest of us here in this place I like to call “Reality” he will see that the current administration is one that was freely elected and that nobody has been persecuted or forcibly suppressed in their dissent and President Bush has nothing even close to “Dictatorial Powers”. His accusations of racism are also completely unfounded. President Bush has more minority appointees in his administration then any previous president including President Clinton. But I guess they don’t count since they’re conservatives.

9/11 revisited

In watching the video from 9/11/01 I find that its been too long since I'd seen them and reflected on the events of that day. In the years that have passed I have lost the edge on my anger, largely replaced it with frustration at the leftists that would have you believe that this was all somehow our fault.
I haven't been nearly mad enough. Not at the terrorists, and certainly not enough at the politicians (mainly democrats) without the resolve to fight and win this war.
I haven't been nearly as angry as I should at the people who deny Iraq is the front line in our fight against these people. To those with the absurd notion that somehow President Bush was distracted from the "real war" I say the war is anywhere that we can engage these people, and much better on their land than ours.
Nor have I been as angry as I should with the "peace at any price" crowd that would gladly trade your freedom and mine simply to "live in peace".
We should all watch these videos and listen to the newscasts of the day from time to time to remind ourselves of what our enemy is capable of and to remember why it is we must fight.
It's better to die defending freedom and liberty than to live as a slave, forced to an obscene religion.
NEVER FORGIVE!
NEVER FORGET!

The Path to 9/11

Does anyone else find it amusing that it is mostly the same people calling for ABC to drop this show that gave such rave reviews and awards to Michael Moore's movie, Fahrenheit 911, the release of which was also timed very close to the election and the accuracy of which was, at best, questionable? Coincidence? I think not!
Seems they could care less about the accuracy of the product when it shows George Bush in a poor light but we can't have anything that points out the failings of the Clinton administration. The photo's and videos of the fall of his regime show a lot of people that seemed to be pretty pleased that he (Saddam) was gone.I also find it difficult to accept that the world would be better off today if Saddam were still in power. He definitely had WMD. We have found over 500 gas shells and removed a large amount of the yellow cake that Joe Wilson claimed wasn't there.I also keep hearing the war referred to as a "Failure" by the likes of Hillary Clinton (and most of the left), by what definition is this war a failure?
